About This Builder

This tool helps Buhurt and HMB fighters plan historically accurate armor combinations. Each piece is tagged with century and regional compatibility so you can build coherent, period-appropriate kits.

When you equip a piece, the builder locks you into that century to prevent anachronistic combinations. Some pieces carry secondary regional tags allowing cross-regional use where historical evidence supports it.

BI Rules Quick Summary

  • Armor must derive from historical sources dated between the 14th (1300) and 17th (1600) centuries — reproductions predating the 13th century are prohibited for safety
  • Armor, shields, and weapons must all be from the same style — Western Europe (14th c. / Transitional / 15th c.), Slavic Influence (Central Europe 14th c. / Russian late 1500–1700), or Eastern Influence (Chinese / Japanese / Middle East)
  • 15th-century Western European style armor must be approved by the Authenticity Committee — seek approval before buying
  • No visible modern materials or manufacturing: neon colors, nylon cords, plastic ties, visible welded seams, heat discoloration, or modern footwear
  • Painted armor metal parts, metal bucklers, and weapons are denied
  • All equipment must pass inspection by accredited marshals before entering the field
  • See the full documents above for complete, current requirements — they are updated regularly
